White Lies - Big TV

Ieri alle prime luci dell'alba, diciamo verso le 10 a.m., mi sono diretta al mio negozio di dischi di fiducia per acquistare Big TV, terzo album dei miei adorati White Lies. Partiamo dal fatto che avevo già iniziato a "gustarmi" qualche traccia sul loro profilo soundcloud, tra le varie preview il mio entusiasmo era a mille. Avevo delle grandissime aspettative a riguardo e con tutta onestà posso dire che non sono rimasta delusa: Big TV è un album armonioso e EPICO al tempo stesso.
Lo so lo so, starete pensando: ecco qua la fan impazzita che elogia uno dei suoi gruppi preferiti! Fidatevi non è così, sinceramente quando esce un nuovo lavoro da parte di uno dei miei gruppi preferiti sono sempre attenta ad ogni minimo dettaglio ed inizio a diventare una super mega criticona. In questo caso ho iniziato ad apprezzare Big TV ascoltando Getting Even  e There Goes Our Love Again, cercando di capire in che "direzione" stessero andando i White Lies. Le preview all'inizio mi hanno lasciata un po' "confusa", ma ascoltando poi l'intero album si capisce benissimo che i White Lies hanno acquisito molta più sicurezza, non che non ne avessero anche prima, ma in questo terzo album si percepisce molta più maturità ed eleganza.
Da fan di lunga data posso solo che ritenermi una fan orgogliosae fortunata!

Yesterday at dawn, so let's say around 10 a.m., I headed to my trusted record store to buy Big TV, the third album of my beloved White Lies. Let's start from the fact that I had already begun to "savour" a few tracks on their soundcloud profile, among the previews I was beyond excited. I had some very high expectations about it and I can honestly say that I was not disappointed: Big TV is harmonious and EPIC at the same time.

I know I know, you're thinking: here is the crazy fan who praises one of her favourite bands! Trust me it is not so, frankly when a new work by one of my favourite bands is released I always pay a lot of attention to every detail and start to become a super mega hyper-critical PITA. In this case, I began to appreciate Big TV listening to Getting Even and There Goes Our Love Again, trying to figure out which "direction" the guys were heading to. The early previews left me a bit "confused", but then listening to the whole album you understand very well that the White Lies have become much more confident, not that they weren't before, but in this third album you can perceive much more maturity and elegance.
As a longtime fan I can only claim to be a very proud and lucky fan!

 

White Lies - Getting Even

Stavo per scrivere il post sulle First Aid Kit, ma BOOM su NME c'era un articolo sui White Lies e sul loro nuovo album e alla fine dell'articolo c'era Getting Even, canzone inclusa appunto nel loro terzo album Big TV, che uscirà ad Agosto. Il punto è che quando esce un qualcosa di nuovo dalla propria band preferita, che sia una notizia o meglio ancora una canzone inedita, entro nel fangirlismo più totale, ma credo che sia una cosa che capita un po' a tutti, voglio dire siamo tutti abbastanza entusiasti quando la nostra band preferita ritorna con delle novità.  Detto ciò vi lascio con Getting Even che ovviamente ascolterò per tutta la giornata, per tutta la settimana e per il resto dei giorni a venire.
